As winter approaches, I would like to remind everyone of the CFS schedule during inclement weather. CFS openings and closings are based on decisions made by FASTRAN and the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). Private transportation providers should follow the FCPS decisions.

School Cancellation
In the event that the FCPS are closed due to snow, ice, or other emergencies, FASTRAN will not operate and CFS will be closed for client services. If the cancellation occurs after morning transportation has started, passengers will be returned home.

Late Opening of FCPS
If the FCPS open late, FASTRAN routes will run late by the same time period. CFS will be open for client services.

Early Closing of FCPS
If the FCPS close early, FASTRAN will begin homeward bound transportation early by the same time period. CFS will remain open until the last client has boarded his or her transportation.

Schools Not in Session
When the FCPS are not in session (i.e., winter vacation, teacher work days), FASTRAN will make an independent decision regarding transportation. If FASTRAN does not operate, CFS will be closed for client services. FASTRAN should announce its schedule on local television and radio stations.
